Robin S. Landers, CLU
President

Robin Landers is a principal at NAILBA member agency Landers-Stein & Associates, Inc., a Miami-based BGA founded in 1959 by Bernie Landers and Marty Stein.

A graduate of the University of Florida’s College of Journalism, Robin has a degree in Advertising. She started as a file clerk at Landers-Stein in 1983, earned her insurance license, followed by her CLU designation. She partnered with Carmen A. Rodriguez in 1995 to begin their agency together, choosing Robin’s sister, Diane Preuss, as their first staff person, all of whom had worked for the original agency.

She has been president of both the Miami SFSP (CLU) and NAIFA–Miami. In addition to serving on the NAILBA Charitable Foundation Board, she also served on the NAILBA Marketing Committee and works on NBA’s Nomination and Bylaws committees. Along with her volunteer commitments to the insurance community, Robin has served on the board of The Heart Association and the Women’s Fund. She is the wife of a prize-winning journalist, and is the proud mother of five children and grandmother to five grandchildren.

Barbara Crowley
Secretary/Treasurer 

Barbara Crowley is CEO of NAILBA member agency Brokers Clearing House, Ltd., located in West Des Moines, IA. BCH is a multi-carrier wholesale distributor of quality life insurance, long term care, and annuity products. Barbara started her brokerage career in 1977 with BCH. She has worked as a consultant for insurance carriers, served on numerous insurance company advisory boards and spoken at various industry meetings. Barbara is a past Chairman of NAILBA, and is active in NAIFA and SFSP. She has served as President of Life, Inc. and as a Board Member and Officer for LifeMark Partners, Inc., of which she is a founding partner. 

John Gilbert

Grants Review Committee Chair

John Gilbert is the President for The National Benefit Corp (TNBC). John’s financial services career began in 2002 as an agent for Banker’s Life and Casualty. He served the central Iowa senior marketplace with life insurance, long term care, annuities, and Medicare supplements. John joined The National Benefit Corp. in 2004 as a marketing consultant specializing in annuity marketing. Gaining a strong knowledge of the brokerage world and the independent broker dealer community was a key to the early successes of the TNBC annuity department.

 In 2009 John was named the director of annuity marketing at TNBC. The annuity department continued to flourish, posting several consecutive record years in total annuity production. In 2014, John accepted the role of VP of Business Development and has continued to help TNBC grow its distribution of insurance products in the institutional space while taking on a larger role in relationship management and agency operations.

John has been active in NAILBA, serving as the Agency Successor Networking Group (ASNG) chair for the past three years, and was recognized in 2017 with the NAILBA Chairman's Award. John has also been active in the local NAIFA chapter and was the 2016 President of The TYGERS, a study group of second and third generation insurance professionals. he attended Northwest Missouri State and Iowa State universities. John is series 6, 63 and life and health licensed. John is married to Lindsay and together they have three wonderful children Jack, Julia, and Jenna.

Seixas "Chad" Milner III
Chair, NAILBA

Seixas “Chad” Milner III assumed the role of President and Chief Executive Officer of The Milner Group in 2017 becoming the third generation of his family to run the business. Chad is part of the fourth generation of his family to be in the insurance business and had previously served as the Vice President of the Senior Markets division of The Milner Group since 2001.

He is an expert in annuity product design and has received the accreditation of Certified Senior Advisor, Certified Annuity Advisor, and Certified Annuity Specialist. From 2001 until present, he has grown the annuity department from 10 million in sales to over 240 million in annual annuity sales. In 2012 Chad founded North American Senior Benefits (NASB) which is a Brokerage Agency focused on the final expense senior market. Currently NASB is the leading IMO in the final expense marketplace with over 600 career agents producing over 20 million in annual premium. NASB continues to lead the final expense market by adding over 30 new career agents each week.

Because of his dedication to the company and business, Chad has been recognized and awarded for his excellence and outstanding achievements with NAIFA-Atlanta’s 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2017 Top Advisors Under 40 Award. Chad maintains active involvement in the business by serving on the board of directors for both LifeMark Partners and NAILBA. He is also an active member of the AIG Advisory Counsel. Chad’s faith, strength and undeniable focus fuels his commitment to be the best innovator in this business. He is married to Wendi Milner, with whom he has two loving sons, Seixas “Sage” Milner IV and Luke Milner. Chad attended Georgia College and State University from 1998-2001 and is very active in his church, Redeemer Presbyterian.

Alan ProtzelAlan Protzel

Alan Protzel is Senior Vice President at NAILBA member company The Marketing Alliance, Inc., a publicly owned national IMO.

A graduate of the Olin School of Graduate Business (Washington University – St. Louis) with his MBA in Marketing and Finance, Alan began his career with MetLife in 1977 as a member of MetLife’s Executive Development Program for MBAs and JDs.

Alan has been involved in many aspects of the industry and has significant accomplishments in all phases of wholesale and retail distribution, marketing, Advanced Sales, product development, illustration system and incentive program development and implementation, and orphan marketing.

Alan has been married since 1977 to Joanie and has two adult children, Mac and Erica, as well as a daughter-in-law, Rachel and two grandchildren. Hobbies include charitable fundraising, volunteering, being a grandfather and stocking shelves at the family deli.

Allan D. ReissAllen Bress
AIM Marketing and Insurance Services

Allen Bress is the Principal for NAILBA member agency AIM Marketing and Insurance Services, which he founded in 1978. AIM was established as one of the first wholesale distributors of Employee Benefit Programs. AIM Marketing provides insurance products to insurance producers nationwide.

After graduating from California State University, Allen was employed by Blue Cross of Southern California as a sales and service representative. It was in this capacity that Allen developed his skills in the Group Benefits arena.

In 1987 Allen, with his partner, established Merchants Benefits Administration (MBA) to administer several Insurance programs they purchased from Aon. Today MBA’s primary focus is Retiree Medical Plans, Part “D” plans and individual dental insurance. Merchants Benefit Administration distributes its owned branded insurance plans - Senior’s Choice Group Retiree Medical and Multiflex Dental.

Allen has been married to Gail for 40 years, and has two adult children. He and his wife reside in Fountain Hills, Arizona.

Danny Brooks
Southern Insurance Group

Danny Brooks is the President of NAILBA member agency Southern Insurance Group located in Cookeville, TN. SIG is a charter member of AimcoR . SIG is a multi-carrier wholesale operation.

Danny started his career in 1978 with Kentucky Central Life. In 1981 he became the youngest RGA in the company. He obtained many awards and was on the President's Cabinet . In 1993, Danny helped form Century 2000 and was President until 2000. In 2002, he helped form Aimco and was President. In 2011 he became a charter member of AimcoR and currently is a Board Member.

Danny is a graduate of Tennessee Tech University. He is married to Karen and has 3 children, Brent, Leslie, and Julie. He also has two grandchildren, Lena and Teddy. His hobbies are golfing, boating and playing with his grand-babies.

Pete Chrisos
Protective Life Insurance Company

Pete Chrisos is the Vice President and National Account Manager for Protective Life Insurance Company.

He has more than 37 years of insurance industry experience. He began his career in 1979 at North American Company for Life and Health Insurance working in multiple areas of the company  before starting his career as a as a Senior Life Underwriter.  He joined the Zurich Life Underwriting Team in 1998 as a Senior Life Underwriter and Sales Support Manager.

He began establishing his career as a Sales Vice President in the brokerage community in 2001. Pete joined Protective Life in 2006 and is currently a National Account Manager in the Brokerage Distribution channel, managing relationships with multiple strategic marketing organizations. Pete is a lifelong resident of the Chicagoland area and currently resides in Hoffman Estates, IL with his wife Karen and their two children, Kevin and Stephanie.

Philip Chuba
Prudential

 

Philip Chuba is a Vice President, Strategic Relationship Management for Prudential. He is an advocate for a firm’s specific needs, and then effectively connects and leverages Prudential capabilities and resources to help firms achieve their goals. His goal is to help our distributors develop strategies and tactics to drive profitable growth.

 

Phil graduated from St. Cloud State University with a degree in Marketing and a minor in Organizational Psychology. He also holds designations of CLU®, FLMI and ACS. Phil lives in Minnesota with his wife and their four children. Phil enjoys all sports and was a coach for youth hockey. He is a member of Prudential’s Beyond the Yellow Ribbon organization and is an active member of The River of Life Church.

Sam Corey IIISam Corey III
The Brokerage Resource

Sam Corey hails from Pennsylvania and is a fourth generation insurance professional. He joined  in 2003 to work side by side with his father, heading up Marketing and Sales for Major Medical and Group Health/Ancillary products. His role today is President with a primary focus on Medicare Supplement, but also expanding product lines and growing the life and annuity side of the business. Father of two, an avid fisherman and golfer, Sam can be found on the golf course with his compadres, when not spending time with his wife or in the office.

Sam hails from Pennsylvania and is a fourth generation insurance professional. He received his first insurance license in 1984, and started his foray into the life insurance world, away from the family insurance company. He began working with The Equitable and the Karr-Barth agency in Philadelphia. The next 18 years provided a number of exceptional experiences and opportunities which included marriage, children, startup companies, international business experience and world travel.

Sam’s father, Sam Corey, Jr., meanwhile had started a BGA agency in Durham, NC in 1992. In 2003 the opportunity presented itself for Sam and his dad to join forces and work together at The Brokerage Resource. Initially, Sam headed up the Major Medical/Group Ancillary Division, and over time his responsibilities grew. Taking on additional aspects of growing the business, his role soon became Vice President, and then finally Chief Operating Officer in August 2016.

On January 1st, 2018, Sam purchased The Brokerage Resource from his father, and continues to steer the business in the direction his father set forth. Growing the firm and adding a broad portfolio of insurance products to retain the best insurance agents nationally.

Father of two, an avid fisherman and golfer, Sam can be found on the golf course or in the gulf stream fishing with his compadres and family.

Michelle DeClerck, CMP
Conference Event Management

Michelle DeClerck founded Conference Event Management in 2003. Today, she’s proud to be leading the industry’s premier provider of unique, world-class event, conference, incentive travel and meeting experiences, based primarily on referrals from many NAILBA clients and supporters. One of her proudest moments was to be selected by Goldman Sachs 10K Small Businesses as the only company in Iowa, and one of only 150 small businesses throughout the nation, to participate in their elite spring business growth program.

A proven industry leader and innovator, Michelle has won numerous professional accolades, including: the 2017: SBA Iowa Women in Business Champion of the Year; the Inspiring Women of Iowa – Character Award; Smart Meetings Top Influential Woman – Innovator of the Year Award; and Midwest Meetings Magazine Cover Feature. 2016 Awards included being named a Top 20 Change Maker in the Event Industry by MeetingsNet and named Iowa’s National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) Business Owner of the Year (2011).

In recognition of her dedication to giving back to her community, Michelle has been named Citizen of the Year in Clive, Iowa (2016). Her community work includes: leading her team in quarterly volunteer projects; serving as co-chair for Matthew 25 (a hunger and homeless outreach initiative); serving on the Clive Public Arts Advisory Commission; launching the Iowa Hospitality Donation Network (a charitable initiative that assists Iowa hotels and event venues in donating leftover items to the hungry and homeless people of Central Iowa); serving as president of the board for Opportunity on Deck (a 501C3 organization that provides free sports clinics to underserved children); and many ongoing and previous volunteer roles in various capacities for the Girl Scouts, the Salvation Army, several Iowa universities, a high school show choir, her church and more.

Blair Farwell RHU, REBC is the President and owner of Resource Brokerage, LLC. Blair has been in the insurance industry for 25 years. Blair has built a multi line wholesaler with 30 employees that have specialized divisions that focus on: Group Benefits, Individual Medical, Medicare Products, Life Insurance, LTC Insurance and individual DI. Resource Brokerage has been awarded one of the Best Places To Work In Illinois (Top 30- Small Employer Division) for 10 years! Blair is married to his wife of 20 years Nicole and has three daughters.

Andrew M. Hamill, CLU, ChFC
Legal & General America

Andrew M. Hamill is the VP of Regional Sales. Andrew is responsible for leading Legal & General America’s wholesaling in the BGA distribution segment, which includes the development and execution of strategies and initiatives to drive growth, improve LGA’s competitive positioning, and deepen relationships with distribution partners.

Andrew is an active member of AALU, NAILBA, NAIFA, and the Society of Financial Services Professionals, for which he served several terms as a board member. He was Education Chairman of the European LUA, is a past board member of March of Dimes Central Virginia Chapter, a founding board member of Regents School of Charlottesville, and a member of the AALU “Future of the Industry” working group. Andrew attended Penn State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics. He has earned CLU, ChFC, CLTC and LTCP designations. Andrew and his wife Eileen reside in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina with their three children, Michaela, Shannon and Ian.

 

Hope HowardHope Howard
Broker World

Hope Howard is Vice President and CFO of Broker World magazine. She started in the mortgage business in 2001 and then moved on to the insurance industry working with Farm Bureau of North Carolina. After writing P&C insurance she accepted a position with NAIM (National Association of Insurance Marketers). There she processed life and annuity cases for the marketing group. In her free time, she was an officer of the Carteret County Elks Lodge, where she worked planning charity golf tournaments and fund raisers. In 2007 she met her very shy and quiet husband, Steve Howard. They live in Lenexa, Kansas, with their two cats and two dogs.

Craig W. KlenckCraig W. Klenk
American National Insurance Company

Craig Klenk is the Vice President of Sales for American National Insurance Company (ANICO) where he is responsible for life, annuity, and pension sales. At ANICO Craig serves on the Life Product Development Committee, the Annuity Product Development Committee, the R&D Committee and the Underwriting Committee. He has been in the insurance industry for over 33 years holding several marketing and sales positions for Insurance Companies, P&C Agencies, and Brokerage General Agencies including ownership of a brokerage agency located in Houston, Texas until it was sold in 2002.

Klenk served as Chair for the National Association of Independent Life Brokerage Agencies (NAILBA) in 1998 after serving numerous years on the board and various committees. He also served as President of the Houston Chapter of the Society of Financial Service Professionals in 1997. He received the prestigious Golden Key Society Role Model Award from The American College in 1996.

Klenk is a graduate of The American College where he earned his Master of Science in Financial Services (MSFS) degree in 1992. He also holds the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designations from The American College as well as the LIMRA Leadership Institute Fellow (LLIF) designation.

Michael “Slades” Sladek

 Michael “Slades” Sladek is a National Sales Director with Mutual of Omaha.  In his current role he is responsible for sales and marketing to industry leading NMOs and BGAs and managing a team of seasoned sales professionals.  Slades has over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting with a double major in Economics from Northeastern Illinois University and received a Master of Science in Taxation from DePaul University. 

He and his wife Rose have 5 children and 8 grandchildren and reside in Houston, Texas.

 

Michael SmithMichael Smith

Mike Smith is President of CPS Horizon Financial, an insurance brokerage firm. Since 2002, Mike’s clientele are financial advisors, accountants, insurance advisors and attorneys whose clients need various insurance products or solutions. CPS Horizon represents 3 dozen carriers and helps advisors with life, disability insurance, long term care, annuities, impaired risk cases, and living benefits. Prior to purchasing CPS Horizon, Mike was in personal production qualifying for life membership in MDRT including Court of the Table.

Mike has presented concepts and solutions, sales ideas, marketing programs, and information on current insurance and investment trends to the Million Dollar Round Table, The Financial Planning Association, The Society of Financial Service Professionals, the Women in Financial Services national convention in Chicago and 5 times at the NAIFA National Convention.

Mike is also the past Member Benefits Chair for NAIFA at the national level. He is a Past President of the NAILBA Charitable Foundation. Married to Pamela. Two daughters Stephanie 22, Hannah 19. Hobbies include travel, going to Packer games, collecting sports memorabilia, playing basketball, and trying to communicate with his daughters.

Scott WeilageScott Weilage

Scott Weilage is President and CEO of Wealth Centers of America. Wealth Centers of America is headquartered in Mankato, MN. With approximately 30 years of background with brokerage, Wealth Centers strives to provide a growing array of support around all aspects of wealth management, employee benefits, and risk management.

Scott attended the University of Minnesota in Duluth. He is a current member of National Brokerage Agencies, Inc (NBA). He served as both a past board member and President of National Brokerage Agencies, Inc. He was also a former member of Brokers Group International, Inc.

Scott takes great pride raising his two teenage children. His hobbies include golf, tennis, snowshoeing, skiing, photography, and enjoys his two horses at their country home.
